About Cookies

What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They allow the site to remember certain information about your session or preferences. Cartridge Desk uses cookies to keep the directory running smoothly and to understand how visitors interact with game descriptions and category pages.

Cookies We Place

We use a small number of first-party cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function — for example, to remember your display preferences or to maintain a consistent browsing session. These cookies do not track you across other websites and contain no personally identifiable information.

Analytics and Performance Cookies

To understand which game descriptions and categories attract the most interest, we use analytics cookies provided by third-party services such as Google Analytics. These cookies collect aggregated, anonymised data including page views, session duration, and the general geographic region of visitors. The information is used solely to improve the quality and relevance of content on Cartridge Desk.

Third-Party Cookies

Some pages on Cartridge Desk contain links or embedded elements that originate from external platforms where the games themselves are hosted. When you follow a link to one of those platforms, that platform may set its own cookies according to its own privacy and cookie policies. Cartridge Desk has no control over third-party cookies placed after you leave this site.

Cookie Lifespan

Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies used for analytics are retained for a period of up to 13 months, after which they expire and are removed. You can delete all cookies stored by Cartridge Desk at any time through your browser settings.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

All major browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their built-in settings menus. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how certain features of the directory display in your browser.
